Official Logo

Jayanti Foundation's logo is officially published! The logo has been designed by professional graphic designer Mr. Alok Ghosh. He is the first donor to Jayanti Foundation and has donated his time and invaluable services in designing the logo, business card and letterhead for Jayanti Foundation.

The logo depicts a Nib and a Flaming Torch. The nib of the pen represents education and also the commitment of putting our promise in writing. The flaming torch symbolizes our motivation, our desire to reach out, the student's determination and the passing of the torch of education from one generation on to the next.

The colors blue and yellow are institutional and youthful respectively.

Jayanti Foundation's motto is to "Illuminate. Generate. Invigorate." Illuminate the life of a child. Illuminate the world with knowledge. Illuminate our future. Generate the funds, interest and enthusiasm for our cause. Invigorate our educational system, our community and our nation.

WHO ARE WE ?

Our name is Jayanti Foundation. We are a non-government, non-profit organization whose aim is to help disadvantaged students excel in school. We find and provide sponsorship for motivated students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, as well as, counseling and mentoring for students who may require support for various reasons. We believe that a good education is the right of every child regardless of their background.

JAYANTI FOUNDATION'S MISSION:
To support, develop, advance and promote the cause of education for underprivileged and talented children in India and inspire them to be better citizens and a proud nation.

JAYANTI FOUNDATION'S VISION:
Vision: The main objective of Jayanti is to help underpriviledged children bloom to their overall growth and join the mainstream of our society, and therefore propel our country - a powerhouse of human resources. Today's children will grow to be India's future. Education is the first stepping stone to growth. Despite considerable improvement in the field of education, twenty-five percent of our population is still illiterate and sixty percent face stern challenges in reaching high school. The exponential growth of educational expenses has sometimes forced talented children to forego their dreams in pursuit of a fierce need to support expenses of the household. Jayanti is committed to helping such children realize their dreams by providing financial and educational assistance.

WHAT DO WE DO?
We aim to provide monetary and non-monetary assistance to students to help them excel in school. For students who are academically motivated but hail from adverse economic conditions and require monetary assistance, we aim to find sponsors or sponsorship funds to pay their semester fees. The schools will present us with a list of students they have shortlisted for a sponsorship. Jayanti Foundation’s Board and volunteers will screen this list to assign priority based on the student’s performance in the previous year, performance in the previous semester, economic background and level of motivation. The Board and volunteers will strive to secure funding and sponsorship for these students on a semester by semester basis. Every semester, the student’s performance will be reviewed and sponsorship will be awarded based on consistency of performance. For students that require non-monetary assistance, we will provide counseling, mentorship and tutoring assistance.

HOW CAN YOU HELP ?
Since we are a non-profit organization that is run entirely by volunteers, you can help out in many ways. The different areas where we need help are:
  •  Reaching out to schools to obtain lists of students that can be helped.
  •  Interviewing students based on a questionnaire to ascertain their level of motivation and their background. Volunteers fluent in Tamil and English will be of great help.
  • Being a counsel and mentor to certain students who may be underperforming due to family problems, peer pressure etc. Volunteers fluent in Tamil and English will be of great help.
  • Finding sponsorship.
  • Administrative help- database entry, typing letters/forms/questionnaires, printouts and photocopying.
  • PR/ Media related. Getting the word out about Jayanti Foundation and its work.
  • Website maintenance.
